As the Marshall County Yellow Jackets are a brand new club team that is fully self-sustained, it is very important that we are getting income for the team. Each player and family will be asked for a $150 player fee. This money will go directly back to each player, helping pay for game day shirts, practice pinnies, and gameday nutrition.
6th/7th grade athletes are asked to also donate a case of water.
8th grade athletes are asked to donate a case of small gatorades.
The Marshall County Yellow Jackets want every individual that is interested in playing the sport of lacrosse, be given that opportunity. IF this fee is a concern/issue, the coaching staff should be contacted.

Boys lacrosse equipment consists of a helmet, mouth guard, shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads, cleats, stick, rib pads (optional) and groin protector (optional, but heavily recommended). Lacrosse is sport specific, football/hockey pads cannot be substitutes. ALL pads are required to be worn to participate in any practice or game.
A good description of all the equipment that is required can be found at USA Lacrosse. Shoulder pads are required to meet NOCSAE standard.
-
Equipment is available at Dick’s Sporting Good’s, Play It Again Sports located at the highlands, and Dunham’s Sporting Good’s located at the Ohio Valley Mall (not the one in Moundsville). Or at online stores including:
Lacrosse Unlimited has a great 4 or 5 piece starter set that would be an excellent option for a new player with no gear.

The Yellow Jacket program wants all interested athletes to play lacrosse. Owning one’s equipment is optimal, but we understand that this is not always the case for some families. The Yellow Jacket’s will work to try and provide equipment for any player in need. We are actively working towards securing more equipment to field more players.
Any and ALL equipment that is loaned to a player through the Yellow Jackets must be cleaned and returned upon the completion of the current season. Any items not returned, must be reimbursed to the team.
-
All players will be provided with a reversible jersey and shorts at the start of the season. These are to be worn to every home and away game. The Yellow Jackets will always have extra uniforms at games incase an article of the uniform is forgotten.
Both uniform pieces must be cleaned and returned upon the completion of the current season. Any items not returned, must be reimbursed to the team.

Practices will be held at John Marshall High School on the lacrosse/soccer field behind the school. Practices will take place Monday - Friday following the completion of school.
All practices and updates will be made through TeamSnap and Remind.
-
Home games will be held at John Marshall High School on the lacrosse/soccer field or at Monarch Stadium. Most games will take place on Sunday’s during “play days” where multiple middle school teams meet and play multiple games.
All games and updates will be made through TeamSnap and Remind.
-
There is no specific game playing time policy. The Yellow Jackets will give every athlete an opportunity to play in every game. It is important for young athletes to participate and contribute to their team during games. Due to the high number of substitutions, players can not be guaranteed equal playing time.
-
Upon registration, both players and parents will be added to TeamSnap and Remind groups. TeamSnap is an interactive sports app that the Yellow Jacket program will be utilizing to show when and where all games and practices are. Players will also be able to update their availability to games and events well in advance through the TeamSnap app. Remind will be used daily to send reminders out to the team of practices, games, and any other information.

We are actively growing an underdeveloped sport in the Ohio Valley and the state of West Virginia and are always accepting donations from the community.
